Holy Habits Finale - Way Church

This was the finale of Way Church's "Holy Habits" series featuring three short, personal talks from emerging leaders. Jake Still preached on the foundational habit of simply showing up for the local church, sharing his story of recovery and restoration and the life-change that came when he decided to keep showing up. Pastor Connor unpacked Matthew 16:24 as a discipleship blueprint - deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow Jesus - inviting the church to commit to making disciples. Maggie Soler testified to the life-transforming power of Scripture, led the room in reading Psalm 23 aloud, challenged people to a seven-day Psalm 23 practice, and invited people to receive Christ that morning.

“"For the word of God is alive and active, sharper than any double-edged sword..." (and: "I can't just read scripture - I need to live it, I need to breathe it").” · Jake Still; Connor Crumpton; Maggie Soler

Take it with you

Make 'showing up' a non-negotiable: prioritize regular attendance and service in a local church as a spiritual discipline. Start a seven-day practice of reading Psalm 23 aloud each morning to let scripture shape your heart (Maggie's "Bible juice cleanse"). In discipleship, expect a pattern: deny comforts, carry your calling (cross), and keep following - commit to one-on-one or small-group discipling relationships this week. Protect and invest in the local church community; it's where transformation, accountability, and mission happen.
